Life Story for Armond Cardillo

Armond Cardillo
Armond Silvio Cardillo, 95, of Yonkers, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 after living a fulfilling life.

He was born in the Bronx, NY on January 11, 1922 to the late Michael and Lucy Cardillo. After graduating high school, Armond joined the Army Air Core where he served honorably as a technical sergeant, flying in B-29 aircraft during WWII. After serving in the war, he worked as an electrician in IBEW of Local 3, working in New York City. He married Angelina DeBellis on November 16, 1952 and they lived together in the Bronx until moving to Yonkers, NY in 1964.

When Armond was not working, he could often be found at his summer property in Ancram, NY, enjoying the outdoors and spending time visiting and helping his extended family whom he loved very much. One of Armond’s passions was animals. He bred and raised field trial beagles from championship lineage and was a member of the Empire State Beagle club, often running his dogs in field trials. He loved and cared for his dogs and also raised domestic rabbits and parakeets.

Armond was a loving, loyal, and devoted husband and father throughout his live and during his final days. He also was a beloved father to his late daughter Lisa. Armond is survived by his wife Angelina of Yonkers, son Armond of Oxford, CT, daughter Angela and her loving husband Scott Macdonald of Middletown, CT, whom he embraced as a true member of the family and treated him as his son.

In lieu of flowers, and family requests that a donation in honor of Armond be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation through their website or to The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
