Life Story for Lucila Padilla

Lucila Padilla
Lucila Padilla was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico to Juan Padilla and Cristina Concepcion on November 4, 1932. She went to be with the Lord Jesus on August 24, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Yonkers, N.Y.

Lucila attended school and worked in various jobs in Puerto Rico before coming to the United States in the late 1960s. During her last years in Puerto Rico, she gave birth to two daughters, Alma and Maribel, and then to Marisol in the U.S.

Lucila’s life took a tremendous turn when God touched her heart and accepted Jesus Christ as her savior. For many years, she was a member of Filipos Christian Church in Yonkers, N.Y. She served as an usher, attended every weekly service, and loved to sing songs. She took every opportunity to share the Good News with everyone she met, and loved visiting the elderly and the sick. Our home always had the radio on one station only, Radio Vision Cristiana. Many can remember her walking the streets of Yonkers handing out bible tracts (tratados).

Lucila was loved by many, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her sister Elisa, three daughters Alma, Maribel and Marisol, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
