Life Story for Felix A. Genovese

Felix A. Genovese
Felix Anthony Genovese, 92, of New Rochelle, NY, formerly of York County, PA, passed away on October 8, 2018.

Felix was born in Mechanicville, NY on January 13, 1926 to Felix and Filomena Genovese, and was a devoted brother to John, Nicky, Tommy, Antoinette, Lena, Angie and Nellie. A World War II veteran, Felix served his country as a loyal member of the United States Army until he was Honorably Discharged in June of 1942. Felix was a committed husband and adoring father who found a career with the New York City Department of Sanitation, from which he later retired in the role of Foreman. After moving to Rock Hill, NY with his family, Felix held additional positions within the Pest Control and Hospitality industries.

Felix is survived by his beloved wife, Sonia Genovese; daughter, Susan Desio; son, Peter Genovese; granddaughters, Kimberly Desio Benjamin and Kristin Desio; and great-grandson, Michael Benjamin. Felix was also a cherished father-in-law to Artie Desio and Nadine Genovese, “grandfather” to Darryl Benjamin II and uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Felix’s family and friends will forever regard him as man of quiet strength, a hard worker and kind person – the true backbone of his family. He will be sorely missed and greatly treasured always.

"Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace." (Victor Hugo)
